YGK

As a professional in fishing line manufacturing,
we never disappoint anglers.
To this end, we learn from the past, improve our present, and take on the future.

YGK’s Craftsmanship

Research and Development

Research for building the future of fishing culture

YGK is actively engaged in research and development to ensure that fishing continues to be enjoyed as an enriching culture as we advance.
We are pushing for product improvements and higher performance while addressing essential business challenges, e.g., environmental measures and waste management.
We are promoting research that will be useful for fishing in the future from multiple perspectives, not only in terms of the products themselves but also in the materials used for the spools and packaging.

Industrial products and
tools that engage the senses

Fishing lines are tools used by people. While YGK greatly emphasises this standpoint, we do more than meet product specifications.
We conduct repeated tests and evaluations with various rods and reels on the market. We simulate diverse scenarios, catering to the needs of anglers at all skill levels, from beginners to professionals. Our tests take place in real-world environments, replicating the conditions that anglers in Japan face throughout the four seasons, including temperature, water depth, and weather.
We combine theory and experience to create tools that are a joy to use.
YGK's craftsmanship is about realising performance with an eye to even the senses.

Product Manufacturing

Proprietary production control system

YGK believes only commonplace things can be created by doing what is obvious.
We give shape to our objectives and consider the conditions required. Instead of following conventional standards, we create, manage, and operate production lines based on our original ideas.
For example, we developed the braider in-house to manufacture the WX method-produced PE lines. We achieved this by assembling the machine piece by piece.
We are actively engaged in constructing advanced production systems, which include the integration of robotic technologies.

Advancing factory automation (FA) to capitalise on human resources

YGK is advancing the automation of their factories to allow people focus on their tasks while machines do what they do best, e.g., introducing articulated (hexaxial) robots, automating the printing of labels in production lines, and using sensors for inspection.
The aim is not to save manpower but to create an environment where people can work better to exert their capabilities even more.
YGK will continue to promote FA.
