Environmental Initiatives

Use of solar and rainwater. Environmental measures throughout the factory, including zero factory effluent.

At YGK, we have installed photovoltaic modules on the roofs of our main factories, including Naruto and Kitajima Central. The factory buildings are also designed and arranged to make maximum use of solar energy.
We have been utilising rainwater for over 40 years and have constructed a circulation system to cool our production equipment. We have also successfully transitioned to a waterless production system, resulting in zero factory effluent.

Promoting product manufacturing that reduces environmental impact, even in spools and packaging

YGK previously used petroleum products in their lines, spools, and packaging. However, there is no longer a need for their usage.
YGK actively uses recycled resin and plant-derived resin for spools. In addition, YGK is working to reduce plastic waste by innovating spool designs and reducing weight.
We are also simplifying our product packaging, transitioning to paper packaging using FSC-certified paper for more than half of our items, and promoting the de-plasticisation of packaging.

Firstly, all YGK employees are permanent and more than 80% are recruited locally.
We also offer three working hour options (no night shifts and all employees work day shifts) so that our employees can choose a style that suits their lifestyle, thus realising zero overtime for our female employees.
